BMC Going Private for $6.9B


(B) After Dell earlier this year, a second major LBO event for a technology firm: BMC Software, a provider of IT management software signed a definitive agreement to be acquired for $46.25 per share “in cash” by a private investor group led by Bain Capital and Golden Gate Capital. BMC has always developed application management software for IT systems and back-end services and is well-known from system and network management engineers. Following is the analysis from Reuters: BMC to go private in $6.9 billion deal led by Bain, Golden Gate.
