(B) While California is experiencing one of the most severe droughts in its history, all new irrigation technology proposed to California farmers are coming from overseas and not from Silicon Valley: http://goo.gl/BjUilS. Why? I wished I knew the answer to that question. I guess when you are busy changing the world, you forget about your own world: affordable housing, transportation (by the way, what happened to the Hyperloop?), and providing clean water to California farmers.
Silicon Valley should be the driving force in fighting water’s scarcity.
I learned a long time ago from a great investor that the best investments are not the hottest companies in the hottest sectors but the hottest companies in out-of-fashion sectors. And, I still believe that to be true. A bon entendeur salut!
