(B) This week was the Game Developer Conference at the Moscone Center in San Francisco. A lot of people, a lot of events, and a lot of parties! At the same time, popular game company King Digital Entertainment maker of Candy Crush is getting close to the IPO that would value it around $7B (King had an annual revenue of $1.9 B and about $568M in profits in 2013) while another game company such as Activision has a market value of $15B and Zynga of $4B.

Two good videos from two veterans of the game industry: “Games is a ‘hits’ business” on CNBC and “How to avoid being the next Zynga” on Bloomberg.
