From Big Data to Small Data – Big is not Necessary Better than Small

IMG_1630

(T) The real challenge is not researching new algorithms that will help organizations to find valuable insights in large data sets. The real challenge is for organizations to focus on establishing procedures to generate, store and archive useful data sets that can be leveraged by powerful algorithms.

While most of the brain power is focusing on new algorithms, there is not enough brain power focusing on data operations to capture the right data.

Big Data is not necessarily better than Small Data.

Interesting reading from Jordan Robertson on Bloomberg on that topics: “The Big Data Dump: How Info Hoarding Hinders Startups, Spy Agencies.”
