From Menlo Park to Prague and Vienna – A Thrilling Musical Journey

MusicatMenlo_2

(E) The Twelfth Season of Music@Menlo, one of the best music festivals in Silicon Valley, is promising to make us travel musically to Vienna and Prague through the music of Antonin Dvořák. This journey will lead us to “the unfolding dynamic at the end of the Romantic era between the Viennese Classical tradition and the passionate nationalist expressions of a generation of Central European composers. The festival will examine the world around Dvořák through its eight innovative, thematically programmed Concert Programs, and four artist-curated Carte Blanche Concerts, which together feature forty-eight world-renowned artists, and include performances of works by Dvořák, Bartók, Dohnányi, Reicha, Janáček, Kodály, Ligeti, Haydn, Beethoven, Hummel, Chopin, Schubert, and Brahms. Also featured are rarely performed works by the Czech master Erwin Schulhoff, Alexander von Zemlinsky, and modern-day American powerhouses Charles Ives and George Crumb, among many others.”

There is not much else to say – just go – and enjoy the music 🙂
