Be Prepared!

Kathmandu

(E) I attended last week a two-hour basic emergency preparedness class from the US Geological Survey and the Menlo Park Fire Protection District (MPFD). The geologist from the USGS did not obviously miss the opportunity to comment on the recent 7.9 earthquake in Nepal. A lot of the information that he provided can be found on the USGS site. The Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) did a presentation “Get Ready” that everyone in the Bay Area should read. In addition, there are a lot of apps, books, and even games to study and use listed on the CERT web site.

No one wants to lose his or her sister!

Note: The picture above from Wikipedia was the Kathmandu Dubar Square before the earthquake.
