(E) The Thirteenth Season of Music@Menlo one of the best music festivals in San Francisco Bay Area, organized by Music Directors David Finckel and Wu Han, is starting today until August 8th. This year will be “a deeply immersive journey through the life and music of the great Austrian composer Franz Peter Schubert. This season’s festival will showcase virtually all of his greatest chamber works, alongside the music that Schubert composed like no other: his lieder.”
This thirteenth season “will feature seven main Concert Programs, three Encounters, and five Schubertiades—special concerts that celebrate a tradition where Schubert’s circle of friends and supporters would come together to be immersed in his music in an intimate setting.”
In parallel to the many concerts proposed, the festival offers a fantastic learning opportunity to young worldwide musicians to learn from an elite artist-faculty through the Music@Menlo Institute. The creativity, enthusiasm, and passion of those young artists can be appreciated in particular during the many Koret Young Performers and Prelude Performance Concerts.
But what makes Music@Menlo so delightful – is that everyone can learn about music and the arts! The audience is invited to learn from the interactions between the mentors and the students at the Master Classes and through the Cafe Conversations where some distinguished guests explore a wide variety of original topics in music and arts.
Music@Menlo performance venues include the Center for Performing Arts at Menlo-Atherton and the Stent Family Hall at Menlo School.
