(E) The Fifteenth Season of Music@Menlo, one of the best classical music festivals in Silicon Valley, is promising to make us rediscovering the unfolding of chamber music through the “Violin”. Music@Menlo will celebrate this year, the composers, the performers, as well as the violin makers, that have shaped the long history of the violin.
According to the festival’s Artistic Music Directors David Finckel and Wu Han:
“The violin has shaped the very evolution of music itself, demonstrated by the earliest violin compositions of the Baroque period, through the performances of extraordinary virtuoso luminaries of the Romantic era, and by the pioneers of instrumental expression of the 20th century. The instrument ranks among a handful of tools whose design has remained largely unchanged for over three centuries, and no musical genre is more indebted to the modern violin family than chamber music.”
Running from July 14 to Aug. 5, the festival will offer more than fifty events on three stages in Atherton and Menlo Park.
Events include live concerts performed by professional musicians, lecture and discussion events, Master Classes, and Prelude Performances performed by the young artists of the Music@Menlo’s Chamber Music Institute.
There is not much else to say – just go – and enjoy the music 🙂
