(E) The latest epidemiological data have revealed that current smoking status appears to be a protective factor against the infection by SARS-CoV-2. A new research paper from the Institut Pasteur explores the key role of the nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nAChR) in the pathophysiology of Covid-19 infection which might represents a target for the prevention and control of Covid-19 infection.
