(E) One of our family traditions is to go out on new year’s eve to see a wonderful performance. This year obviously, because of Covid-19, that will not be possible. But last year, we went to see Maria de Buenos Aires at the Opera de Rennes, when I was travelling in Europe. And, we had a wonderful time.
It is a unique opera from Astor Piazzolla, atypical and not often performed. Maria, the Lady is an allegory of the Tango. Buenos Aires is a real character. The text is full of poetry and metaphors but quite melancholic.
