Stargazing at the Stanford Student Observatory

(E) Stanford KIPAC organized a fun stargazing at the Stanford Student Observatory yesterday night. A few Physics students were operated a few Unistellar telescopes (made in Marseilles) on the hills. Each of those telescopes had a WiFi network, and a mobile app, that connected to the telescope WiFi, mirrored what you can see in the telescope.

I was also able to clearly admired Jupiter in the large telescope of the Observatory.

Here is are my saved pictures from the Unistellar app that I downloaded to my mobile phone:

Messier 2 – M2 – cluster of 150,000 stars in the Aquarius constellation in our Milky Way galaxy:

Messier 27 – M27 – Dumbbell Nebula – a planetary nebula in the Vulpecula constellation:

Messier 31 – M31 – the Andromeda galaxy:

Messier 57 – M57 – Ring Nebula – a planetary nebula in the northern constellation of Lyra:

Messier 77 – M77 – the Squid galaxy – a barred spiral galaxy in the constellation Cetus:
